jeez that sucked swapping front springs and upper bushing mounts but its done. the old bushings were definitely shot. im going to drive the car around for a day or two and then ill snap a side-shot since i think they need to settle first. the first pic shows how compressed they were which would technically allow the shock to move up and down and side to side some. the second and third show the top hat sticking above the strut towers.

put the new intake on tonight. xair over the radiator. i can see the difference it makes on iat alone from my ultragauge. driving down the highway air is ambient and it drops fast when above. the stock intake always read hot compared to ambient

Well tonight i did round 2 with the suspension.

removed the stock shocks/struts and lovells springs i had installed. then installed the new maverick man coilovers which have higher springs rates. but WOW do they ride smoother. my stock struts had to be blown as fuck!

Sweet car man! My brother currently has a GTO as well. ‘04 I think. He recently swapped a LQ4 into into it with a 4” crank. 6.7L with heads cam and exhaust backed by a built transmission and twin disc clutch. Getting ready to spray 150 shot of N2O.

    Those cars are beasts!

Yeah I think he’s ran it a couple times with the old LS1 motor that was in it before. I don’t remember what time he pulled. Maybe mid 12’s at 5000ft elevation.

He’s planning on it again once he gets all the kinks worked out. I believe he uses the stock wheels with DR’s in the rear at the strip.

The LS motor spun a bearing on a bad nitrous tune. So he’s trying to avoid that type scenario again.

ive never experienced nitrous. is it a wet or dry shot? i thought wet didnt need a tune. i would like to do a supercharger on this eventually, would make it a blast around town

I am in the middle of helping a friend swap a 6.0l and t56 out of a 2005 gto into a 1989 c1500 chevy truck. Found rust in a cylinder so had to bore it out, new pistons, Texas speed Tsunami camshaft, lsx 102 intake. Should be one nasty truck.

It's a wet system but still requires timing adjustments similar to timing retard in boost for F/I. I haven't ridden in it myself when sprayed. I'm kind of scared to.

nice project! i really like how these motors go into anything and they just work. granted they arent the best at everything but the ease of modifying or replacing is so nice.

hahaha i think i would be too a little.

Nice work. That's going to be a fun truck. Those LS motors are pretty versatile.

yeah its working great. im thinking about getting it tuned to dial in the fueling and take advantage of it and the headers.

been having a random starter issue though. after the coilover install (unrelated i know), the starter would just click (solenoid trying to engage) but didnt until after a few key turns. next morning it took even longer, and the same at lunch. started working again until today when i tried to go to lunch with the same issue but now its working again. i already bought a replacement acdelco but i want to give the power wires a look over first before i decide anything. once the solenoid engages the starter works fine :notsure:

Sounds like the Solenoid. Get it away from the heat of the headers & you'll be OK.
