talking about remote mounting it? it has a heatshield around it and granted it may be the original with 90k miles now which i guess is a lot. did some reading and it seemed like people were getting ~60k but those were old posts.

its weird that it does it when the car is cold though. just gets bound up?

Disk on the Solenoid. Once it contracts gettin' cooled down clearance increases.

You might be able to take it out & flip it around if it's got two identical surfaces. You'll know once you get it apart. No Heat Soak problems?

nothing that has indicated it to be a heat soak issue. today i had the issue at lunch, went to lunch and ate (maybe 20 mins) and it started right back up again. started fine for work tonight too.

i can always keep the one i pull out for a spare i suppose

The Beauty of Electronics. If you were runnin a lot of lead timing, you would have trouble. The computer dials it back.

my front bumper Sport Appearance Package (aka SAP) reproduction came in from GTOG8TA.com. The grills are already painted gloss black but the lip is full poly and needs taken care of.

debating having someone wrap it or get it painted?

I'd think somethin' like a Decal. Wrapping It may effect install for fear of Crackin' It. Either way I think it would last longer than Paint.

i was thinking paint might crack with how flexible this piece is. wrap might be a little more robust in that aspect :notsure: idk if it can be wrapped though with the curves and all

installed motor mounts, trans mount, and shifter today. that took all afternoon. the passenger motor mount requires a u joint swivel and a swivel extension. it was a pain in my ass!!

the trans mount was the easiest thing i did today. the shifter wasnt too bad either but a couple allen bolts were stupid tight from the factory

i put the new shift boot in as well with the shifter. the mgw-p has some tight shifting. super solid feeling and much better than the vague factory one. gained some idle vibrations with the mounts but the driveline feels nice and tight. worth it.

put in the SAP grills tonight. fairly straight forward install, bumper has a couple broken clips though that i found out from a prior owner at some point. then gave her a wash and took some updated pictures.

Mmmm carbon fiber driveshaft 1 piece. Rated for 1000hp. No more driveline vibrations. Just some from having poly mounts.

Been a minute but i finally mounted the sap lip. Plan to paint it this summer.

    20191213_144355.jpg

This paint scheme: black grill, rest color matched.
