I was updated on the turbo situation yesterday, we are now switching to the Blouch Dominator 3.5XT-R turbo. SteamSpeed has never responded nor updated the tuner/garage after multiple inquiries and calls from them. So fuck SteamSpeed. They may make a great turbo but the customer service is non-existent.

Another change is that we are now switching to a NA long runner intake manifold from Outfront. This will eliminate the need for TGV deletes all together, as well as giving a slight bump in the power numbers. I've read as much as 25hp but we'll see where this build ends up at. Still shooting for 400+ wheel hp on 91 octane pump gas. It's going to make mounting the TMOC more of a challenge tho. Good thing I have a massive hood scoop now, we might need to cant the cooler up at the back, thru the hood opening. Not a bad thing tho as that will put it more directly in the air stream.

Hood has been repainted. Last remaining silver is the roof and that's wrapped black for the time being. I'm over sanding and painting for a while.

This is far from a professional job. The paint did not come out perfect. It's from a spray can and it's metallic, so not very easy on such a large surface. I think maybe the trunk came out a little more consistent. I don't really care either way. The silver is gone and I am much happier with even a shitty paint job now that the color is all pretty much the same. Honestly, I think my shit spray can paint job might be better than the silver paint job was.

Sanded and primed before this. This was the first coat of the blue. I ended up using 2 and a half can's of the GrimmSpeed WRB paint. Followed up with 3 and 3/4 cans of clear.

Wet sand and then compound and polish next weekend. Then I'll reinstall it on the hood and get the hood scoop mounted again.

Damn man, just got caught up on this build. Things went 0 - 100 real fast! Looks like it's going to be a hell of a lot of fun when it's done!

Yeah, they sure as hell did!

Getting really close now. Just waiting on the heads to come back from the machine shop now. They built the new OEM heads the first time around with the good parts specified by the tuner but didn't do the pocket porting they were supposed to. So the heads went back for that. We talked to the machine shop yesterday and they were about 90% done with porting one head and the machinist was telling us that he wasn't happy with the factory valve angles so we are going to have those redone since they are there. So hopefully we have the heads back next week sometime. That's all we are waiting on now to build the motor. Turbo is still on order but because I don't need that for a little while still, it's not holding anything up.

Oh, also picked this up yesterday while I was at the tuner's garage. NA long runner intake manifold. Working on painting it wrinkle black.

Finished the hood. Could really use someone to polish it that actually knows what they are doing but I'm happy enough with it for now. No more silver!

The hood scoop is huge, I dig it.

What is the advantage to the NA intake?

Long runner on the NA vs short runner for the original intake. Should give better power over the entire rpm range.

It was fun before, I expect it to be even more so when it's running again. And it looks 100 times better now!

Started prepping some of the mechanical things that I can today.

Got the Radium fuel rails and Aluminati rail adapters setup with the Radium dampers installed on the rails. Had to grind off a little material from the Aluminati adapters to clean the pulse dampers. Left the injectors off for now so they don't get messed up while I wait for the motor.

Trimmed the "lip" off the hole for the crank damper. I'll be running a Fluidamper that doesn't have a recess for the lip. Wiped the timing covers down with Cerakote trim coating when i was done to freshen them up.

Then I installed the Torque Solutions uppipe and downpipe blankets.

Nice work on the rattle can paint. That's some tedious and labor intensive stuff with all the prep and cure times.

Thanks. Lots of practice doing safety wire on motorcycles for track days and racing. Probably not to spec but it works for the intended use.
