I'm not much of a mechanic but frequently follow youtube directs to repair the vehicles. We bought a 5X8 trailer and towed it with the Tacoma. The trailer is rated to haul 1500 lbs. It was not loaded full. About halfway on a 150 mile trip, the transmission felt like it was slipping. After stopping and going into the store, the truck would shake a little and not move. As I was looking at dash, my P R N D 4 3 2. lights went out. Then I shut it off to think a minute and when I re-started it, it would not go into gear.

Call a tow truck and the guy pried off the tab by the gear selector and said I could release the gear selector so I could drive it.

Got it home and to the shop. The Transmission guy suggested I go to the dealer. I did and $3000 bucks later my trucks heater won't work, the back up lights won't work, the turn signals don't work and if I pull the trailer the transmission feels like it's shot.

Can some one point me into direction on this forum where some information might be on happened to my truck?

The Dealer put a new main engine harness in it.

    "lifetime fluid"

Sounds like a light load to cause damage to the transmission.

I should have asked what size wheels and tires should I run.

Bepoop- your advice is golden. You should go get your cow back and stick to being old fashion.

Buddy, I've forgot more about wrenching than you will ever know. You came in here asking for help, vague as hell, and it took you 2 weeks to give a response. Something ain't right. You said a dealer replaced your engine harness. There has to be a reason why they replaced your harness. And if you have ever seen a harness, there are about 100 different pigtails to be plugged in. It is possible one of them didn't click in all the way or 1 was just unplugged. I've done this before. All we are here doing is trying to help. Keep up the smart assery and you will not get it. This website is great for technical advice but it helps to be as precise as possible with what is going on. Btw tire and wheel size will not make a transmission slip.

Your harness isn't installed properly; All the electrical issues your having now comes back to the harness the dealer put in. Bring it back and have them resolve the issue for you, I wouldn't accept a repair that has caused more problems. Dealers are hard to trust; they make a mistake and wants more money to fix their mistake, you just keep throwing money at them and they just keep causing problems until they accidentally fix the issues.

I have to add that maybe have your shifter cable checked; It sounds like the cable is damaged and would require replacing; not having the backup lights work and considering the information from your first post also leads to clues that the shifter cable may need to be looked at.
