2006 Tacoma Door Seized

Hello,

I have seen a few posts about doors not opening, but didnt see any specifically addressing my situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, I walked into the store and when I walked back out I couldnt get into my driver's side door. I can hear *something locking and unlocking, but yet the inside and outside handle do nothing. I cant get the paneling off the door to investigate or fix because the door wont open.

Am I correct in thinking that I'll need a slim jim or something to open the door and thats the only way? I dont have a good understanding of the mechanics of the door and locking system. This is a new one for me.

truck has 315,000 miles. I assume its just an overuse problem.

 

Those plastic clips are notorious for wearing out, cracking.

Try to get the inside handle out & see if you can grab the rod. A good flashlight will help.
