    Gents,
    Happy new year everybody!

I'm reaching out to the more experienced people in this forum with a few questions.
Can somebody walk me through replacing the driver door on a 2006 tacoma access cab?
My truck was hit by a neyghbor car when parked on the street.
The driver door and the rocker are bent quite bad, and they need to be fixed.
I found a replacement complete door the same color and the only thing I need to do will be to swap the doors.
Can anybody tell me what do I need to disassemble in order to have the door swapped? I believe I will need to take out the fender, to have access to the screws holding the door in place.
Do I need to take the front bumper off to be able to remove the fender?
I looked for some directions on youtube but I could not find anything for this specific car.

    Thanks for your help.

Shouldn't be too bad, you're just pulling the door off the hinges. Should be able to get a wrench right on the door to hinge bolts. Definetely need 2 people for the job. Put several strips of tape on the leading edge of the fender so if you bang the door into it it wont mess it up.

I don't see any reason to remove the fender to replace the door unless the hinges are bent and need replacing. There are four bolts that hold the door to the hinges and one bolt for the door stop/detent. I think you will probably have to remove the door panel to unplug the wiring harness. In case you don't know how to remove the door panel here's a tutorial.

The plug for the harness "should" be right at the rubber boot. However, watch the video (several times) just in case

Thanks guys, I already watched this... :) several times to make sure I'm not missing any details...

This is the question I have regarding your proposal.
The new door I have has the hinges attached to it and it was detached from underneath the fender.
I thought I will have to do the same and remove my bent door from the same spot and attach the new one with the new hinges.
If I will not do that and take the hinges off the door how am I going to realign it to fit properly?
My thought was that once the door is temporary attached to the body, I will close it and make sure the alignment is good before fully tightening the hinge screws.
If I attach the door to the old hinges I will not have any possibility to do any proper alignment, as if I'm closing the door I have no access to the screws. Will be more a shot in the dark to secure the alignment of the door to the body.
Are you guys sure it's working the way you recommend?

    Thanks,

I would leave the current hinges where they are. It's a huge PITA trying to put the door on and attach it to the body with hinges installed.

My son and I replaced the door on his first gen and we found a second of hands to be quite helpful.
