I have a 2006 Tacoma Prerunner, installed DTLT headers with stock y pipe. Installed front 02 simulators. Been running this setup for about 3 months. Just got codes P0328 knock sensor, P0607 Control Module performance and P0171 Air/Fuel Mixture system lean. I have not replaced the rear O2 sensors. Truck has 260K miles and this is the first issue we have seen like this. Some folks are telling me to be rid of the truck but really don't want to. Thoughts on what we should do next? I know the knock sensor is a real hit to the truck. We are looking tonight to see if any critters have destroyed the wiring harness to the sensor.

well for one, you dont install simulators on the front o2 sensors.. you install them on the rear.. fix that problem and you're truck wont be leaning out because it has no idea how its burning gas thanks to you installing the simulators on the front o2 sensors..

I stand corrected. Thanks for setting me straight. I just typed the whole thing wrong. Sims are installed in the rear ports. What a knucklehead.....

well shit. just an FYI, The theoretical service life of an o2 sensor is 30-50k mi.. they typically tend to "Read" slower and slower

We are going to replace them anyway and see what happens. It's always fun throwing money at code problems.....

soo... your front o2 sensors help your truck control the amount of fuel it needs while in "closed loop" operation.. if they don't read correctly or fast enough your truck can experience lean conditions and cause "knock" etc.. sounds like you need to perform a little up-keep
