2006 Tacoma PreRunner Fender Flares

The front and back flares on the passenger side of my '06 Tacoma are oxidizing. Would it be cheaper to have the old ones repainted? Or cheaper to buy new ones and have those painted?

Anyone know of a place where I can purchase replacements for cheap? They arent even metal.

They are lightweight FLEXIBLE fiberglass.
This isn't the 60's.
Get em painted.

Another option for OP would be to get some bushwacker style fenders. Cheaper than having old ones painted, and definitely cheaper than buying new ones and having them painted.

EDIT: Forgot to ask...do these things fit the base models as well that have the black fender flares?

 

I found 4 flares all with mudflaps already painted for sale on ebay for $13 Guy says 2 mount brackets are broken though.

Does that mean they wont be able to be mounted at all?

I sent the seller a message but he hasnt responded yet.

 

I put them on one of my trucks. They fit fine and were great value

 

Anyone have a ball park estimate what it'd cost to repaint to flares?

I love my '06 Tacoma. Has exactly 44,989 miles on it. I dont plan on getting rid of it anytime soon.

But i want to keep it looking its very best.

 

I figure if I buy them...since my stock ones are flat black...ill likely just duracoat mine with the UV resistant formula....i love that stuff....and when done right is very very tough.

Should i buy pre-owned flares that are already painted for $130 (all 4 flares) or just have this repainted? Which is cheaper?

 

Nobody can answer that except a local reputable paint shop. You're going to have to call around and see how much they will charge to repaint. Prices can vary widely by location and TW is very diverse.

 

Thanks Hawkeye. Im actually gona stop by the local collision center who did super excellent work on my tacoma after an accident a few years ago.

Loved the results, but i didnt have to pay for it.

I should probably wear a diaper under my shorts in case the quote they give me makes me shit my pants.

 

I don't know where you live, but if it's near and urban environment you should visit several shops and get at least 3-4 quotes and make sure it's a shop that will warranty their work.
