2006 Tacoma Tailgate Parts

As with many others, my tailgate was stolen. I bought a tailgate on eBay but it was only the metal. I am searching for the best place to get all of the guts to install. I attempted this with Toyotapartsestore. DO NOT USE THEM. I gave me credit card and placed the order. I got a confirmation email, then nothing. They never charged my card, but never returned any correspondence or shipped anything. Hopefully it was just a dead site. Anywho, after cancelling my card I am back to square one. Should I just bite the bullet and order through a Toyota dealership? Many thanks for responses.

 

If you're looking for liternals and things like the handle, check rockauto.com or parts.camelbacktoyota.com/. People use them quite a lot and its at least a starting point. If you're looking for the plastic backing and top cap and you plan to actually use your truck for truck things, I would skip the plastic and go with a metal backing. When I bought my truck all the plastic was bent and barely hanging on so might as well skip a step. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the resources. I am planning on selling my trusted friend and upgrading. I'm at 235k. I know there is a lot left in her, but I want a 4x4.

 

I would check Craigslist. You might see your tailgate there or another one you could harvest
