    Hey all,

I'm new to the site and had a few questions on my truck. I put some grittier tires on my truck (not lifted) same dimensions, just more meat for the offloading in Montana. There is a metal piece that is used for protection of my shocks and suspension, that leaves very little margin of play between my tire and that piece (so I can't put chains on it for the snow or thick clay up here) would a suspension lift fix that or is there something else you guys have in mind?

    Thanks,

    Daniel

Yes, a suspension lift will help provide clearance for knobbier tires.

Thanks for the input, do you think spacers on my control arms will also help?

    Getting there...
I've never heard of spacers for control arms...do you mean spacers for your front shocks? If so, that's a budget way to gain lift. Not the best, but gets the job done if you don't plan on whoopin your truck. New UCAs may be needed depending on how much lift you gain.

I don't believe it's on my front shocks I'm almost positive it's on your control arms I just don't have much gap between my gritty tire and arm. Talking to someone today they said buy a new set of rims and tires that have the middle of the rim sunken in but the walls out further and that will create more gap without putting too much strain on the truck from the spacers
