If modding a 2 wheel is a waste of money than I have wasted over 13k to date. The only thing I would say is needed is a winch. That would really help if you are alone.

By the way front bumper, rear bumper, will add a lot of unnecessary weight and bog you down. You camp a lot? If not, get yourself a gazelle tent and some basic gear and get out there on some trails. Then you can decide what you really need.

Yea I have heard the concern about weight.

I hate the chrome rear bumper i have, so i figured id get a nice black steel one to replace it eventually. I also would like to have a winch, so getting a bumper in the front that could take one would be ideal, but like you said I don't want to bog down the truck too much. Im assuming upgrading the suspension would be needed for the truck to ride better with all that on. Seems like a rabbit hole for sure.

Ive already got camping gear dialed in, RTT looks like a lot of fun and very convenient, but again adds weight.

I wouldn't say it's worth modding. Whatever these people say you can apply to 4x4 and be better off.
You're better off saving your money doing some camping for cheap and getting a 4x4 when you have the money or making the jump now. Car camping is a cooler, a tent, and a stove. You don't need to spend money

Funny that this thread came back up in my feed. Here's my labor day shenanigans. I got nailed by a thunderstorm when setting my trailer.

...I had to air down to get my 2WD out of this mud hole. :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous::anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

... But I did get it unstuck in less than 10 minutes. Score one for team RWD. :cookiemonster::cookiemonster::cookiemonster:
