    Build looks awesome.

The URD Supercharger kit I have leaves much to be desired, plus the mapecu is a pain.
I'm interested in how the haltech works with the stock ecu. Did I miss what intake manifold this is? I read through but I must have missed it.

Does the 2tr head use the same intake manifold mounting as the 3rz?

Thanks man! Things are comin' along nicely

That manifold is a custom creation from a friend of mine in Thailand. It is different than the 3rz mounting unfortunately. Or else I would be loooong into this build already lol

The Haltech should be goin in in the next few days. It should work just fine, as the stock ecu will still control my body functions, but all enegine controls are through the Haltech. Full standalone style with the Boomslang harness

Nice. Lol. I'll be watching the build and how it goes with the haltech. Hopefully I can convince boomslang to build a 12+ harness.

The mapecu is not intuitive to use. The tune from urd leaves alot on the table I feel, and with the 12+ tacoma ecu it seems to not always play well. I have issues with a fuel cut before the Rev limit that I can't sort out, and a/f ratios are different day to day it seems. Urd wasn't any help trying to sort it out so I gave up asking them.

With proper engine management and some building of the engine the urd kit would be much much more fun.

What do you mean? Currently it's run in maf intercept mode, partial oem maf and on board map sensor for boost.

I really like the idea of the haltech for sure.

I don't want to hijack your thread.. If you have any insight on setting up the haltech, maybe shoot me a pm.

Okay... so I installed it, went great, things were going smooth AF, until I came to the tooth count on the crank trigger...........

I'll have to consort with LCE on monday, to find out the tooth count on the trigger of the motor that I have there, apart already..

    SOME SUCCESS!!!

After fighting with settings for what seemed like a week, I caved in and called Haltech.

Mitch remote viewed my laptop, and within 15 seconds the crank signal was stong and he also set my offset.

Tomorrow morning, injector swap, and first fire up...?? :D

Theres plenty of room for BS in here, ask away dont be shy.

The haltech is very user friendly once you get everything setup correctly. The issues I have had so far are of my own ignorance of the initial setup, and easily remedied with a screen share with mitch down at haltech.

Boomslang harness, technically a 'piggy back' but fully controls the engine through the Haltech, leaving body controls to the stock ECU

So what you are saying is, that the Toyota Tacoma 2TR-FE engine has a crank trigger with 36 teeth, missing 2; has a Reluctor crank position sensor; and a TDC offset angle of ~575 degrees (+ or - a few depending on the engine)? Just want to be sure for future purposes. ;) :D :spy:
