I've had to use the super handy holes in the drum before on my '90 yota. Drum decided to weld itself to the axle. Worked like a charm... Good luck OP and hope there is no serious issues going on.

    Hey OP, any updates?

Fixer5000, I dont think the clutch is the issue from his original explanation. Could be, but he said it feels like the parking brake or brakes area stuck, so I'm guessing the clutch is starting to grab but the truck wont move. Dunno though cause I'm not there, so it could be. Smoked clutches suck.

Another thing I wanted to share that happened to me on an '85 yota I had that would be something to check real quick... Top bolt of the driver's side caliper fell out. So when I would back up and apply the brakes, the caliper would fold out and hit the rim. I would then drive forward and the caliper would go back into place. Everything was fine going forward, but when I would back up... that one wheel would lock up. Didn't take many times of that happening before I figured it out, but it was super weird.

OP... get your rig figured out? I'm just curious as to what the problem is/was.

No money, all went to truck...
Hey OP, I had the exact same issue with my 2012. Everytime I washed my truck, the driver's side rear drum would lock up. At first I could just drive forward or back and I could pop it. It got worse and would completely freeze. had to have it towed to dealership twice. The second time they had to pull everything apart and it turned out it water was not draining properly and they had to clean it out. So far no problems. I would guess same thing is happening to you.
