While traveling, yesterday morning, the AC switch lamp began flashing first thing in the morning and air is warm. Later, I turned it on again and light didn’t flash and the air was very cold as is normal but after stopping for lunch the ac again would not work for the rest of the day (200 miles). The car is 1,300 miles from home and I’ll be heading back tomorrow so I want to replace flow sensor but I don’t see where it is located. I’m hoping someone can guide me to it. Also what relay can I try? Thanks in advance.

There is no Refrigerant Flow Sensor on a 2nd gen, there is a compressor Lock Sensor on the A/C Compressor.

The flashing A/C light is when the A/C amplifier does not detect a speed signal from the compressor lock sensor after commanding the MG CLT relay on.
    Possible causes are:
Open or shorted wire(s) in the lock sensor circuit
    Bad lock sensor
    Internal problem in the compressor
Open or shorted wire(s) to the MG CLT relay
Open in the wire from the MG CLT relay to the compressor
Failed compressor clutch or excessive clutch airgap
    Belt slipping
    Failed A/C amplifier

Does the compressor turn on for a few seconds and then turn off with a flashing A/C light or does it not turn on at all when this happens?

Thank you. The 1300 mile trip was a constant nightmare. The sensor checked bad, not an easy job for me with the recessed pins. I could not find a sensor before the trip but today I found one on eBay. I will confirm the outcome here.
