    Whats the skinny on the Front and rear diff weight and amount on a 07?

    AMSOIL will definitely happily tell you both the recommendation of weight type and quantity both through their webpage and if you call them.

    It should be GL5 75w90, I run AMSOIL 75w90 Severe gear though Toyota themselves spec 80w90 but that's damn near impossible to find and negligible difference.

    Front should be about 1.5 quarts and rear about 3.5 IIRC.

    Don't forget to upgrade your drain and fill plugs to Lexus ones with magnets.

    In the very least have a spare front diff drain plug on hand as they tend to be a might bit of a pain to remove from time to time and often get tore up in the process.

    I've had to remove mine with a welded on nut, and another with an air chisel and my truck has effectively zero rust and never seen a salted road.

    Yes and it should be GL5, GL4 is for the manual trans. If you have aftermarket gears though those usually call for 85w140 I think.

    But as long as you're stock 75w90 Severe gear will be perfect for you and provide good protection and performance.

    I change my diff fluids about every 50k and do the transfer case and my manual trans at the same time as well.

    Grease your zerks while you're down there and covered in yuk from the diffs already.


    AMSOIL's squeeze bags for gear oil makes the job a lot faster and less finicky with less spillage.

    For what it's worth the crush washers for all the plugs are called out as not reusable so it's good to have those on hand as well, dealer only item but they're cheap, half the time they just give them to me but I'm a frequent flyer in the parts dept.

    No difference between manual or automatic aside from the transmission fluids themselves.

    Is it the clutch limited slip, a mechanical limited slip, or the electronic "Limited slip"?

    Irregardless, I'd call AMSOIL about it, I believe they said that they're severe gear has the limited slip additives necessary but that is definitely something I'd confirm through them.
