Weird. I guess the process is still evolving. Unless I’m misunderstanding it, that bulletin calls for a treatment to the exterior too in addition to rail seals although don’t think that happened for me either…Doesn’t instill a lot of confidence. LOL

I could be wrong but I believe starting in the 2.5 gen they were doing the plugs and spray inside. Not sure if something is different or if the prior process that mine got wasn't working and they changed it

Thank you for that. I printed it out and put it away. My truck was inspected under the campaign in August 2021. They explained the frame would be cleaned and inspected, CRC would be be applied and plugs installed in various holes built into the frame and some larger plugs to close off the boxed sections of the frame in the front. Looking at the parts list on the bulletin, I was surprised how many plugs are included in the kits: It's not obvious there are that many just looking around under the truck. The CRC looks like the white icing they put on cinnamon rolls or danish pastry and about the same consistency. It's not like fluid film. Again it looks like pastry icing or toothpaste rather then sprayed: Like when they put your name on a birthday cake at the bakery. They sprayed it into various holes in the frame and along the inboard side of the frame where the two layers of steel overlap in places. I have to say they were pretty frugal with it and it's selectively placed I'd say by a wand applicator: not coated or sprayed everywhere. It doesn't migrate all over the place either. The heat last summer didn't seem to affect it much. I'll be curious to see how it holds up over the winter.

yep, it’s wax I believe. If they do any cleaning it must be to the inside of the frame. Don’t think they touched the outside of mine.

Re: App: I mis-spoke: I created an account onToyota's main website. (toyota.com) It's under "Owners". Enter some basic info (email, etc) and the VIN. It goes out and finds all the info on your truck including service records. It also allows you to add things you did yourself. There is also an App for your phone in the app store. "Toyota" It has the same records, but it's kind of clunky to use otherwise.
I agree. The only rusty areas on my frame are along the welds. They don't look like they were ever painted nor did they apply any CRC on them or other areas. I have checked the welds on my son's 2016 F150 and a buddies Dodge and they are the same. I painted them: Rustoleum satin and a foam brush. I also did the front plate and cross-member under the bumper in the front. It looks like a factory spray job in the places i did. No brush marks, then fluid filmed everything. It looks nice esp where there were welds that showed through they wheelwells. I'm going to do all the welds on the upper and lower arms in the spring. I can't find any record of an inspection for frame issues prior between 2014 and last summer/2021 when I had it performed. They sure nagged me to get that one taken care of before March though!

Same here. Only compound that is on the other parts of the frame is overspray from one of the holes they used to treat the boxed sections. I noticed one "plug" was wasn't really a plug, but rather an open-sided bridge gizmo hanging a bit below the hole it was in: looks like it's function is to catch drips of the compound or allow water to drain but keep dirt and sand out.
