    Hello.

I own an '07 Prerunner (Speedway Blue; access cab; v6; automatic transmission; rear wheel drive; 110,000 miles). I bought it in '09 with just 6500 miles on it. I've owned it for 15 years now and only added 103,500 miles in that time.

Until very recently, I thought I would sell this because I bought a new bigger 4x4 pickup a year ago. However, lately I've been thinking about how expensive and technologically complex vehicles have gotten vs my <relatively> simple Prerunner. I figure I could get about $10k for my Prerunner if I sold it. I could also just hang onto it and maintain it like I've been doing since I bought it. Generally speaking, an '07 Prerunner - if properly maintained - ought to give me 250,000+ miles without too much effort, right? The little monkey on my shoulder is telling me I'd be crazy to sell my Taco.

I've been thinking of adding a canopy or something like a Bruin Camper, Topo Topper, or Alu-Cab for camping.

I guess I'd like to hear from the community. If you were in my shoes, would you keep this Prerunner; sell it, or trade up to a 3rd Gen 4x4 Taco?

Welcome to TW! I’d keep it, as long as you can afford the insurance and upkeep and have a place to keep it. We’ve always had a backup vehicle and needed it several times over the years.
