What do you have to say TW??

I'm getting a new frame next week so I'm shopping for new suspension components for my 2007 Sport. Here's a link to my other thread where I'm comparing different components.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/oem-vs-bilstein-5100.584429/#post-19472654

So I called the parts dept at the Toyota dealership where I'm getting the frame replaced to get prices/availability on OEM components. I ask the parts guy, "What if I were to place the OR model shocks on my Sport model?" And he said, "No need, the part numbers for shocks are identical between Sport and OR models." He also mentioned the front coils are identical as well. Parts guy didn't know the brand of the shocks but he thought they were Bilstein.

Is this true? If so, then what is the difference in suspension between Sport and OR? Did suspension change for different model years? I always thought the OR suspension was "softer." Perhaps I am mistaken.

    Dear parts guy,
If you read this, no disrespect. I just thought there was a difference between Sport and OR.

    Thanks TW!

Shocks are Bilstein and the coil springs on the frt are different between off road and sport. I’ll look at the “off-road “ shocks I’m getting ready to install and compare them (part #) to the “sport” shocks I’m getting ready to remove. I think they are the same part #.

shocks on 2nd gen TRD OR ans Sports are the same. Coils are different, only the TRD OR came with progressive coils, SPORT / SR5 etc came with linear. Also the TRD OR came with a smaller diameter front swaybar.

OP i wouldnt pay OEM prices for what are essentially bilstein 4600 shocks. Buy them or the 5100's aftermarket (if you dont want a lift set the 5100s at the 0 setting) and call it good.

SR5’s are different though. My SR5 came with Tokico shocks painted black.
