I FINALLY FIXED IT !! A "dash" squeal sounding a bit like the vintage speedo cable problem/squeal. Of course my 2007 Tacoma speedo is electronic. In any case squeal sounded like it was coming from below dash and it would start at approx 65-75 mph, particularly in cross wind conditions. Took quite awhile to locate the source. It was coming from the top of the windshield in my case and was squealing across the rubber molding between the roof and the windshield. How to sort it out--I taped (blue masking) off the entire windshield (lft/rt, top/bottom) rubber molding, and went for a freeway drive--no squeal. I verified with a couple of drives--no squeal. So, I got off the freeway and started pulling the blue masking tape off in about 1-2 foot segments. Back onto, and off fwy pulling segments of tape off with each stop. Pretty quickly squeal came back as I pulled the tape from the culprit section of molding. I now knew specifically where the problem was, but what to do about it. I went to HomeDepot/Lowes and got some DAP "clear, 100% waterproof window, door, & trim sealant." With a small 45 slice & hole in the tube I then slipped the tip under the rubber molding between the molding and roof. Squeezed a bead of sealant all the way around the windshield. Let it set up and the next day went for a 65-75 mph drive--no squeal thereafter. The excess sealant that inevitably will be on the windshield can be wiped off with acetone if you like. One guy in the blog said he sold the Tacoma because he could not fix the squeal. The $3.50 DAP was a lot less onerous than selling the Tacoma, and it was fun sorting it all out. There was not a "fix" in any blog but there is now.
