I've got a problem with my hazard lights switch, it doesn't seem to work when I press in the switch, more so it seems to break all of my turn signals when I press it a few times. Pressing it a few more times seems to fix the issue with the turn signals, but the problem persists, it would seem I would need to replace the switch...

But here is the problem, and hopefully I can get some clarification.

The hazard light switch is part of a larger assembly (Toyota 84332-04070Switch Assy, Hazard Warning Signal) it appears that when I try and order it, toyota will only sell me the whole assembly with the clock and the seat belt indicators.

If I jump in the truck and drive out to a yard, would I be able to pop out just the hazard lights switch portion? or is this not possible, and I need to swap the whole assembly?

Any help with this would be super appreciated, Toyota quoted me over $700 for this assembly, and a switch costs about $50 bucks at the yard.

    Thank you!

Looks like it is the whole assembly, including the clock, security light, and passenger seat belt & airbag indicators, whether or not the switch can be removed from the assembly I do not know.

It sounds like you may have an issue with the flasher rather than the switch, all the switch does is ground the Hazzard pin of the turn signal flasher, when that pin is grounded the flasher should turn on the hazzard lights.

Ok, quick update. I was able to find the assembly and swapped it. Still same problem, the switch appears to work fine on both units. What appears to happen is, when the button is pressed in, then the hazards flash once, and then nothing. During the time that the button is now pressed down, the signals don't work at all. But once I press the Hazards switch again, it depresses and everything starts working again.

It's very likely that during the LED conversion and the new headlight assemblies, something was wired differently, and now for whatever reason the hazards just don't work, or at least stay flashing aside from that single flash on the initial button press.

    Hey mattski81,

Came across your post and was wondering if you resolved your problem. Seems like I am having problems with my hazard light switch. Turned it on and then I couldn't turn it off. I was finally able to turn it off by pushing the switch repeatedly. Haven't tried to reproduce the problem. Doing a little more research before I do.

    Thanks!
