I have a 2007 Tacoma 2 wheel drive 138,000 miles manual. I’ve had the truck for 6 years running 30” tires for those years with no issues. Went to replace
tires and I couldn’t afford those tires so I went down a size to 235/75r/15’s.
    1. The best way I can explain the issue I’m having is specially around 40 mph it feels like the wheels are not round. It actually feels like the car is wobbly. Even worse at 60-80 I feel like the car is hard to control like I’m driving on ice.
Never had these issues with the bigger tires.
Couple of things when I bought the truck 6 years ago the dealer told me it has a “ small” lift on it. The front wheels have a 1/8” spacer to clear the brake calipers . I can see air bags in the rears which I have never put air in. The only thing is I actually hit a guard rail in the rain going maybe 20 mph because my airbags didn’t deploy. The only thing that was damaged was the front bumper and the actually steel bumper underneath has a small dent in the corner. Also the wheels are not hub centric but I did purchase hub rings and installed them hoping they would solve the problem which they didn’t. I have also checked and I can’t find any play in the front end at all. Dealer keeps telling me it’s because I have a lift on it which doesn’t sound right because it’s always had a lift.

Any one have any things I should check?
Final thing i used to own a Jeep and one day my rear end felt like it was literally falling off and my diff was shot and I had to replace it. Could it be the rear end? It literally feels like it’s in the front end and if you look while driving it literally looks like I’m driving over miniature speed bumps . Hope that makes sense

Sounds like when you got new tires they didn't balance your wheels correctly. This can lead to horrible vibrations that get worse with speed.

That's my guess since it seems like you didn't change anything else on the truck in the past 6 months.

Was thinking about taking it back to them and have them check on the balance of the tires. It’s a national chain. Thanks I’ll do that

In the future if you wanted to check or balance them on your own you can buy a bubble balancer for about $50. I usually just have shops do it since I'm not spooning on truck tires but if I feel anything unusual can just throw it on the balancer and eliminate that as a possibility to aid in diagnosis.

I'm assuming those are aftermarket wheels. It looks like they should be hub-centric and they are not. IF that's the case, your wheels are not centered on the hubs like they should be. The wheel should locate on the raised center portion of your hub.
Jack it up and loosen all your lug nuts. Then, slowly torque them down in a star pattern. This should help them 'locate' more centric on the hub. It won't eliminate the problem but it should make it better. If it does get better, that would be my guess as to what the problem actually is.
If that is the case, you'll need new wheels or ring spacers.

I thought so too except they’ve always been in the car and I ever went one step further and bought huh rings . Someone just told me that the tires I have starfire Solaris as tires they are an off brand or generic tire and someone told the they are terrible and some even had recalls.not sure though
