Alright .. So here is my issue. Yesterday my trucks heat control and climate control stopped working. Fan speed works fine goes high to low as it should but when i try and select an option for the fan to go to my feet or windsheild it does not, i can hear the actuator ..(or what i think is the actuator) making noise in the back but nothing happens.. The heat control does not work either now but the fan speed is fine. I checked most of all my fuses and nothing seems to be blown. Im really at a lose for what to do and im broke and cant pay anyone right now.

Pull the knob off and make sure the nut behind it didn't come loose.

So do you have any airflow out of the vents or its just not blowing at all?

At first I just answered with the blower resistor fix, then I really read your post.

What you may be hearing is the Mode Control Servo Motor trying to actuate, but it's linkage is either jammed or broken.
The bad news is there isn't any really easy way to get there.
I'd start by removing the center console, radio / heater controls, maybe even the glove compartment. Anything to figure out what's wrong.

On my daughter's car, the fix would take removing the entire dash. I did manage to figure out that I could change the mode with a well placed screwdriver.
She gets AC in the summer, heat and defrost in the winter.

The reason I asked if he could feel any air at all is I've seen some people install their own blower motors and get the polarity backwards on the wires to the blower motor so it gives the sensation of a bad door but the blower still turns. Just the wrong way.

Exactly how did you determine this?

Have you checked the coolant in the radiator? Is it full? Is it frozen?

Well, we’re getting a few more bits of information, but still no where near enough info to help you. 1st of all, the lights have absolutely no correlation to the function of the heater. 2nd, there’s a huge difference between no heat and no blower. “Yet only the 1 setting” What EXACTLY does that mean?

    And what setting is that?

    o_O

Does the blower work Yes or No?

If Yes: Does it work on all speeds?
If it only works on High. You have a problem with the resistor or Connector or both.

If No: Check the heater 50 Ampere Fuse. And the Connector at the blower four wires and at the motor two wires. Look to see if they are burned or disconnected.

Jimmyh -- That is the problem with mine, only works on high. I was preparing to look at the resistor, but then I saw your post mentioning the connector. What and where is the connector ?

There are two down by the blower motor under the passenger side dash ( behind the glove box).

One goes to the resistor and has 4 wires. The other goes to the actual blower motor and has only 2 wires.

is that fuse located under hood or in cabin...??

Mine just quit last night and I thought I'd ask prior to taking a look....it's cold out....

    Blower died on All Speeds.
