2008 17" Center Caps

Guys, Gals,

Can these caps be disassembled? Can the emblem be separated from the cap? It appears there is some sort of button/tab in the center on the back that is smashed down to hold it in place. Anyone know how to separate?

 

The little thong on the back back looks like flashing from the mold.
I don’t think you can separate any of it, I believe it’s one piece.

 

That looks like a mold mark/flashing to me. I don't think that logo is removable.

 

Could they possible be glue on centers?

 

I’ve decided to do the FJ cap mod and get rid of these centers. I think the FJ caps will certainly change the look of the wheel.

I’ll try to pop off one of the centers to see if they are a glue on deal. I’ll let you all know what I find.

 

These caps are one piece! I tried heating, cutting, etc, to get that center section out but it’s all one machined piece! Toyota dropped the ball on this part!
