You probably have 2wd trucks and all 6 speed manuals correct? According to Fuelly.com, there's not an average mpg of over 18 on there. Your lowest recorded mileage of 15 is actually better than almost everyone's combined average. Most are in the 12-13mpg range. Link here:

I got pics, but I am in Denver at the moment. Didn't get to drive it since I ran out of time, but this is the 11th conversion that I have seen DieselToyz do, and they are all top notch and look factory.

Just out of curiosity, how hard is it to get parts for one of these?

Like say you need a gasket or waterpump and so on... do you go to Toyota with part numbers and wait a month for them to come in?

Most parts are available from Toyota dealerships here in the states (filters, belts, gaskets). Now, if you need a cylinder head or crankshaft etc. then you will need to order it from overseas.

I'm not sure about every state, but in Texas you fill out a Statement of fact form, the inspector verifies that it is in fact running on diesel, they inspect the vehicle, and as long as all lights, blinkers, etc. work then you are given a sticker. Registration is a separate item and you go to the DMV with your insurance and driver's license. You can have them change the fuel-type on the title to diesel if you want but it's not really necessary. Now, CARB is a different story altogether. You need to definitely know the system in order to get it smogged. A common argument is that if it's not an EPA certified engine, you automatically fail. This is not necessarily accurate. The engine has to ultimately fail a test or be out of compliance in order to be rejected. A NON-Certified engine just means that the engine has not been tested in the USA, not that it was tested and failed. There also exists a ton of fine print in the laws that allow some creative wiggle room. There's wordage like

    From the EPA.gov website:
" This policy states that EPA will not consider any modification to a "certified configuration" to be a violation of federal law if there is a reasonable basis for knowing that emissions are not adversely affected. In many cases, proper emission testing according to the Federal Test Procedure would be necessary to make this determination."

Now, I cant go into a ton of fine-print as this would be an extremely long post but conformity is confirmed at the testing facility. It is NOT an automatic-fail. But, at the end of the day it is a crap-shoot as to what type of inspector you get.

    Excellent info .... Thanks.
Also any idea if 2000 Land Cruiser power train is good donor candidate. :)
    Its older 3.0 diesel D-4D

Or better yet what year LC - Hilux - Surf - Prado are good candidates for parts?
