Looked under my 2008 TRD this morning and spotted a drop of oil on the brake backing plate. Being Labor Day, I couldn't find a new seal, but was able to get new shoes, so I figured I'd get started on the job and replaced the shoes on the good side. That's when I noticed that the self energizing/parking brake hardware is not the same on both sides. It was either made that way, or someone installed one side incorrectly, causing extreme wear to the parts on the one side. These are the drums that have the steel bar attached to the leading (front) shoe, and engaging the parking brake / adjuster lever on the trailing shoe.

Do any of you know if this is supposed to be different from one side to the other?
