    Hello
Can someone in the know tell me how the cruise control works..where are things etc.
My cruise control has been flaky, works some times ... doesn't work..
Are there wires I can check for looseness ?..
    Frustrating to say the least!!!

    Thanks
PC I have 240,000 miles for now!;)

IF the Brake is depressed it will cut out the cruise. IF the switch is wrongly adjusted (i.e. too close and a bump causes the switch to connect) the Cruise will cut out. Switch is under the dash on the brake pedal assembly.

That brings up a thought - check your drums/disks/sensors and senor adjustment. Also, if the ECU is shutting off the cruise - it may have a code stored.

Yes - but before you get too far - check your brake switch and also check for codes on the computer.... that might be a direction to take.

Do you have audio controls on your steering wheel?
    If Yes then...
    Do they light up?
    If No then...
Your spiral cable has its first wire broken, and the next one will be the cruise control.

I replaced my spiral cable and it solved both of those issues for me.

I did check the lighted sound controls on the steering wheel..
Yup they are light..Just for kicks I tried to turn the cruse control on...
    Hmmm it works.
    Later nope!

I wonder what will happen if I ever get to hose off the underside..

So the saga continues..I check for cruise control all the time.Well today I had it. It worked. ..When I hit the button to cancel..nothing ..A tap on the brakes did cancel it though..any more thoughts?

Maybe the issue is the cc stalk then if it did not cut it off. If spiral cable is bad that should be turning on air bag light on dash besides just the steering wheel controls not working.

Does the CC Stalk use the Spiral cable if it's not in the steering wheel?
