2008 Taco: is there a metal washer on the oil drain bolt?

Just changed my oil yesterday for the 2nd time and later on when I was dumping the used oil I found a metal washer in the basin. Now, I loan out my oil change basin to a few friends and they use it for all sorts of oil changes so I'm wondering if maybe it came from something they did.

There aren't any leaks at all but I just wanted to make sure that it didn't come off my oil drain plug/bolt. Is there a removal washer on it that can fall off that easily??

    Thanks. :)

I thought mine didn't have one for the first 3 oil changes. Turns out it was painted onto the oil pan.

    Under a dollar I believe.

I don't know what filters you use but if you get the stock toyota filter from a dealer the replacement washer usually accompanies the filter within the plastic wrap.

Mine seems to be permanently attached to the oil pan. It never comes off.

Just check it periodically to make sure it's not slowly dripping.

Are these crush washers very specific to make and model of vehicle? What do I ask for at the auto parts store?

Yes they are size specific to the drain plug bolt. That's why it's way easier to just go to the dealer. Pick up 5-10 of them while you are there.
