Hello. Have a 2008 tacoma. Ac light flashing. Had a brand new compressor installed. According to the shop it was working when they installed it. Two days later, I turn on the ac, no cold air, and flashing ac light. Shop said it works if they put power directly to it. What can I do to fix this? They suggested replacing the ac amplifier. Sounds like they are guessing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'd suspect the lock sensor in the new compressor failed, if you have the lock sensor from the old compressor I'd put that one on.
Don't let them start guessing at it, the A/C Amplifiers rarely fail.

Does the compressor run for a few seconds and then shut off when the light starts flashing? If so I'd suspect the lock sensor/circuit.

Aftermarket lock sensors are a known problem. I second installing the original lock sensor or an new OEM sensor.

Just had this happen yesterday. My Ac fan clutch relay was burned out, I first swapped it with the horn relay because they are identical and it worked fine.

    Idk just bought it
I had to replace the sensor on the compressor for mine to work. My light was blinking as well. Works fine now. I bought one from a Toyota dealership but shop around I think I got it for less than $100. They’re expensive.
