2008 Tacoma one click when trying to start, vehicle starts after several attempts. ***FIXED ***

Am I missing something? What are you implying?

 

You obviously don't understand the science behind the solenoid and what causes the contacts to get burned / worn.

It isn't the mileage it is the start cycles. I do start and stop the engine quite often... The point is you wouldn't be done with it, even with a new starter you would have the same issue given time.

 

I'm having the same issue after doing alot of high water driving during hurricane Harvey. My parts from Nations should be in Monday. Im hoping it fixes it.

 

40k miles, and it has some wear and a bit of corrosion. Now just waiting on USPS to deliver the new pieces.

Well, Nations sent the mirror opposite of the contacts I needed. Good news is, the plunger was so oversized, that it makes contact with the unworn part of the old contacts, so Im back running again!

 

Did you call them? I would they will should hook you up with the correct parts.

 

Yeah, fired off an email to them, since it was after business hours. Figured, if they swap the pieces out, Ill save them for next time, because I dont want to pull the starter again.

 

I wanted to post the problem with my starting problems. I replaced the solenoid parts and now the Tacoma starts great.
