I hit a high curb a few weeks ago and blew out both passenger side tires. I bought new tires and had the alignment checked as I was almost positive something had to be out of whack after I hit so hard (nearly rolled it). My mechanic drove the truck after putting the new tires on and balancing the rims and said the wheel is straight, returns to position after turning, and there was no wondering of the truck while he drove it. I don't think he put it on the alignment machine.

Should I go to another alignment center and have it checked again or would his reasoning above be enough not to worry? Can the rear wheels be aligned? Are the front ends on these trucks tough and can handle heavy bumps without coming out of align?

Hard to say. I smacked a large pothole years ago. Didn't damage the tire, but really messed up the alignment. After multiple alignments, I swear the steering wheel is always slightly off, even though the truck drives fine.

Yes you can have a 4 wheel alignment. These trucks can take pretty hard hits and still be fine but if you're that concerned just take it somewhere else. How does it feel when you drive it? does it pull to any direction? Keep in mind there is a difference between a "pull" and a "drift". The road naturally has a curve to it so almost all cars "drift" to the right because of that, but if it actually "pulls" and you have to correct it by turning your steering wheel than you might be out.

No, no drift, wander, nothing! Drives like it was before the accident! I think I'm going to get it checked out again, though, just to have peace of mind.

    Thanks, fellas!
