Could someone tell me where I might purchase a transfer case actuator for a 2008 Tacoma 4WD transfer case actuator. Toyota wants $1500.

    2 questions

Are you wanting to stick with OEM parts?
Are you sure it’s the Transfer Case Actuator?

First make sure that is your only issue- the switch inside the cab, the front actuator, the t case actuator, and all the limit switches on each actuator are potential problem areas. Then, go on eBay or the marketplace here and buy a used actuator. I replaced both of mine- spent $70 on the front and $100 on the t case- have been working ever since.

Drive shaft came loose in the front and hit actuator. Broke two of the three ears holding it in to transfer case. So I’m going to have to replace it whether it’s the problem or not. Thought I would start there. That was the only damage I see. What sight did you go to to find the used parts? TIA

A few guys have had good luck with aftermarket ones on eBay. Time will tell how they hold up. OEM is expensive.
