Good afternoon guys I am new to the board and have a question before I make some purchases. I bought a brand new 22 TRD PRO Tacoma my stepson has a 2008 TRD Tacoma and I have confirmed it has a six lug pattern. Looking at giving him the tires off of mine and purchasing him a brand new set of 16" TRD PRO rims to mount on his truck. His truck is lifted plenty of room will these rims work on his truck before I order a bunch of stuff? Thanks for looking!

Yes, 6 lug is the key

But what is this pro prerunner you speak of in the title?

We bought his truck used a couple years ago it has TRD Off Road decals on the back the tail badge says PreRunner V6 SR5. I used to own an old four runner and my wife now has one anyway I don't know all the ins and outs on these trucks trying to learn very fascinated. Big concern is if the rims will work on his setup.

So his is a 2wd, correct? That's what all PreRunners are.

But the wheels will still fit.

Easy to prove though. Take one off your new truck and mount it up on his. In fact, I'm not sure why you'd buy the new wheels for his truck, as I assume you are getting new tires. Just order your new wheels, tires, have them mounted on your truck, then put your already assembled units on his...... or am I missing something?

Yes two wheel drive correct. The rims and mud tires on his is oddball sized and garbage. The ride is bad and he is learning what it is like to pay for gas. I was gonna give him my stock tires and put BFG all terrains on mine. I actually like the factory rims I have ordered a Wescott 3" lift kit for mine so I can run LT285/75R16 BFG AT's on mine. I also have the sensors and personally not big on aftermarket rims just not my thing. Anyway in a nut shell I think you see what I am trying to do the question is will the new rims match up or cause any issue that is my concern. Appreciate you taking the time to communicate seriously.
