I would bring it to dealer and ask them to do oil pressure test. It will show immediately if you have the same problem.

You are probably just hearing the secondary air injection pumps running when you first start the truck.

I would not worry much. Unless for some reason you needed crankbolt removed it should be good. Those airpumps do make wierd noise so thats probably what you hearing. I wish Toyota had installed oil pressure gauge on those trucks.

oh i know, that air pump is kind of crazy. i do know that the sound i heard at lunch was not the pump. the pump only lasts too for about a min after start up. i had a distinct knock that sounded more prevalent from the driver side. i guess im going to keep an eye on it and see how it goes. i know its probably not the best to "wait and see" but screw it... if it blows... i have all the service reports and the truck is less then a year old....

No need for seafoam. Just change your oil every 3 months on calendar schedule rather than milage, like I do.

So I was searching Google about the differences in the exhaust manifolds from 2005-2011 and 2012-13... the new manifolds have the same ports as this Tundra did.

Question is: Would I be able to run exhaust manifolds from a 2012-13 Tacoma in a 2006 Tacoma? If my head does not have the holes for the ports, but my manifold does... would there be any issues?

    Why wouldn't it be compatible?

This guy is running the Taco motor, with the Tundra manifolds... only problem is his computer throwing a CEL because the air valves are not working. If he didn't have the extra air valves on the Tundra to begin with, wouldn't it be fine?

If the manifold is designed for the ports on the Tundra head, then it is going to lack the external ports that tie into the earlier emissions system.

Information for those who might be interested if you suspect a dirty engine. Sludge engine clean up - 1 pt of Dextron Trans Fluid added to oil. Run for 500 miles. Change oil. Trans Fluid oil has a lot of cleaner in it.
