Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
look to the left side of the gauges and see the lil knob? turn it down and it'll take away the brightness of the gauge lights

I've got the base 09 reg cab and really like it. The camera is there in the tailgate, but the mirror with the monitor is not standard. From Toyota that is an extra $625.

"And THE BIGGIES standard side and side curtain airbags, TRAC+VSC, and a backup cam integrated into the tailgate that displays through your auto dimming rear view mirror"...

My experience when checking both out were these points noted above. I knew i wanted to go up from me last 2000 extracab to the 4 door model. 4x4 was a given, as i live in New York between Buffalo and Syracuse where lake snow gets cooking at rates of up to 2-4 inches an hour sometimes.

The extra traction without going into 4 wheel is definitely a huge improvement over my 2000 without those automatic features.

Also - Though some call the back up camera / mirro 'gimmicky', i can tell you without a doubt it is a plus. I can back up to within 3 inches of something after having had it for about a month. I would get out (and still do sometimes) to get the proper perspective and pretty much have it down now. Big advantage over not having it as i pretty much 'back in' 80% of the time, and have limited room to do so more often than not.

The decision was easy for me, helped by the fact Toyota payed the 1st +$16,000+ for the truck and provided a legitimate 0% loan for some of the rest.

I didn't like the rear cab setup on my 2009 access cab TRD 4x4. That damn rear console looks like a toilet and seriously limits the usefulness of the space. Here is my fix.

Also totally agree on the aux adapter for iPods and the like. Probably get a better one in the aftermarket. The stocker has insufficient gain to allow many players to drive the main amp to full power. It's pretty lame, actually.

    BTW, Go Gators! :)
