Not much yet, got a pretty good sound system w/ my custom sub box. Plan on adding more lights & a tool box.
    I recalc'd it @ just over 940cu. in.
It was really close to matching my Pyle Drivers.

Something like this would be awesome. Only better quality/fit and finish so it truely looked like it was factory. Oh yeah, and about $200 cheaper!!

I'm in the process of building a box pretty close to yours. How did you mount it? I'm trying to think of a good bracket to make instead of screwing it into the plastic in the back.

Sorry guys and yes I have been ridiculously busy lately lately but I have everything ready to go template wise however I have not been able to source upholstery for a reasonable cost. If anyone is interested in doing the upholstery or having it done themselves I can ship you the enclosure raw at this time.

Unfortunately I never received the pictures from my "beta tester" nor any feedback on the fit. :( I also have not been able to find a place to do the upholstery for a reasonable price however I can offer the standard enclosure carpeting like in 09PreRunner's picture above. If somebody would like to be my new beta tester please let me know!

Preferably however if I don't hear back soon from the local member that was interested I'll let you know. Do you already have a sub picked out?

i'm still researching current speakers... i've been out of the car audio scene for about 7 years, just kinda getting back into it. i used to to installs, mostly factory replacements/upgrades... nothing custom fabricated. As for my system i'm not even sure if i even want to run a sub yet, I'm mainly just interested in helping out- you seem to do good work and i have an attention to detail (and have the right truck)- sounds like a fun project.

I actually have an idea for a box that would replace the folded down drivers side rear seat, i haul a lot of photography equipment much more often than passengers so i need a box that i can put stuff on top of and not worry about damaging the speaker. I was thinking of a ported box (if possible), something downward facing, hopefully 10" if there is enough cubic airspace... the idea would be to replicate the factory look of the rear seat folded down while utilizing that space for the speaker, and by only doing the drivers side i could still put one person in the back on the passenger side if needed. Or just a box that could be disconnected quickly and easy to remove from the vehicle. i'm not ready ready to drop a bunch of $$$ on it... just my idea.

I don't think anyone noticed, and I didn't either until your other post, but he/we are looking for an 09+ because the back seats are different.

I think he already has a design for an 08, but its sounding like you are looking for something custom as well, hopefully Marv can find the time to get us all setup.

That sounds like a a doable idea that shouldn't cost too much. Can you get me some measurements of the area you want it to fit?

You are correct that I didn't notice it was an 08 and thanks for pointing that out!

I hope I can find someone local so I can test fit it myself instead of shipping another one out and not getting any feedback  but at this point I may have to ship one to someone again.

:anonymous: oh man, i can't believe i made such a noob mistake... you are correct. my apologies for mis-posting.

i'm going to be doing some work on my truck this weekend and could make some measurements, and make some design sketches. i used to do CAD back in high school so i should be able to get you some good info.

i just want to clarify- i'm not sure that this something that i am definitely wanting to for myself, it was just an idea i had for another box design that's different from what i'd seen others do based on my own needs- and i'm willing to help out by doing some R&D with my truck, and i feel somewhat qualified due to my previous experience with car audio installations.

yes, hopefully you can find someone local, that sucks that someone would do that.
