Hiya... so I installed speakers into the rear access doors of my 09 access cab [ did not have any speakers nor any factory wiring ], ran 16 ga. wire, to the factory head unit.... ISSUE; I removed the factory non jbl stereo and pulled the plugs... then I googled which four factory wires, & which of the harness plugs, do I splice into to have sound go to the back speakers... Google was useless... all wrong gen , or generic Toyota...did see some here but were over wordy ... this is a Canadian rig, should not matter... can anyone send me the link puhleeze!

I believe I read somewhere that the rear speakers in the access cab were behind the headliner above the rear window. You may want to check to see if the headliner is vented for a speaker or two.

What radio do you have? I had the 6 disc changer and swapped it out. Iirc the speakers were split up amongst 2 plugs. Fronts on the main plug with the power. Rears on their own plug.

So I just finished installing rear speakers in my access cab rear doors. In a nut shell. Pulled off all the required access panels. Door, back of cab under back window, corner access, jump seats, and kick plates from front to rear. Installed new speakers in holes already there. Ran speaker wire from access door thru the door jam wiring rubber tube, along the kick plate, up under the carpet on drivers and passenger sides, up to the back of the OEM head unit. Spliced into the rear speakers at the middle quick disconnect plug. The one with 5 wires coming out of it. Make sure you know which wire is + &-. Cut the wires from the QD at about 4 to 6 inches. ONLY cut the four needed wires. There was a skinny wire in the middle so I left it connected. Connect as follows. Black + LR, Yellow - LR, Red + RR, White - RR. Power up to listen for new sounds. Wish I would have done this 10 years ago. Don't forget to connect wires to your speakers. Close up all the panels in reverse order. Just a note. To cut down on outside noise, I installed extra insulation across the back of the cab before I installed that panel. Also. I put in 6 inch Kickers. You will need a mounting bracket from Metra or mine came with some from Crutchfield. Doing the holes in the door panel was a whole other thing. Think outside the box a do what works best for you. My Taco is a truck and thats how I treat it, so I didn't need anything fancy. Man oh man. What a game changer...
