This was the opening post so I thought it was the label in question,
But The other labels are interesting also.

I hadn't heard that, I will have to check it out, I am having the T-SB done because I feel the truck "sags" a little too much under load, Thanks Doc

A TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin. All car makers use these to communicate with dealers and any auto repair shop. The purpose of a TSB is to convey information for repair technicians. At times, concerns pop up with vehicles. Sometimes they are customer concerns with the feel of the vehicle, noises, paint and body issues and so on. Other times, there are updates to information printed in service material for new parts, techniques and/or procedures to be used. In almost all cases, they are "known fixes" for issues that may have many potential causes. These things can take a lot of time to find and lead to customer and shop frustration. These bulletins are a resource for the shop/dealer/technician and customer to use. If you have a vehicle with a matching concern, you can use the bulletin to verify cause and apply the remedy. Again, they have been around for YEARS with all auto makers. Even aftermarket service information lists these TSBs for use. Many times, it is a sharp technician in the field that finds the root cause and forwarded the information to the manufacturer. They confirm the information and put it out to help other technicians.

Beyond that there are other sites that offer fixes for vehicles when they are a little older or issues that do not come up while a dealer is seeing them. Sites like Identifix and others. You must be careful with these resources as at times the "fix" can be questionable.

There is a COMMON misconception. NOT EVERY VEHICLE NEEDS EVERY TSB PERFORMED!!!!!!! A TSB IS NOT A RECALL OR A CAMPAIGN IN ALL CASES!!!!!!! Sorry I shouted but this really bugs me. Many TSBs are there for information. Not all vehicles exhibit the concern and not all customers drive the same way. Some TSBs call for reprogramming of a control unit. In some cases, the driver is not having an issue or they do not feel a "shift delay" that others do. If you program that car without the customer's permission and understanding, you could change how the car drives and the customer will be unhappy. Guess what? You cannot go back to the old program in most cases! Now they are stuck with what was done. How about a brake noise? Not every vehicle will develop the concern. Much could depend on use or driver behavior. There is NO reason to do the work to every car just because. This is where "customer concern" TSBs fall most times. Some customers may like the vehicle just fine as is, while others require something else. Those that need it get it, those that do not.......... That is where the spring TSB falls IMO. Some people that never would have had a concern with how a vehicle operated are not suddenly convinced they have an issue because they hear about it. In some cases it is valid, in others it may not be.

    HTH.

Wet Okole seat covers, Westin Platinum Oval tube steps, Rear spring TSB plus Super Springs, D-Rings in all bed bolts, Tailgate reinforcement mod (for loading Harley)
It really doesn't matter what bed payload is on a door sticker, the vehicles refer to in the TSB will not perform as specified/advertised in any Toyota issued brochures (online, hardcopy, or owners manual) regarding capacity of interior, plus capacity of bed load, plus capacity of tow hitch load, all combined..
If you bring this fact to the attention of the Service Manager or Toyota Rep, you will have no issues in obtaining the 4 leaf spring upgrade.

    hope this helps...

Zimm, ask the Federal Govt. That sticker is there by law as I understand it. It is where they are REQUIRED BY LAW to list the reduction due to DEALER installed options. It is a different sticker we have on our trucks than the RECALL sticker from 2009.
