O man is that messed up that sub in the back seat???? what were they thinking?? and the Tail Lights U G L Y !!!

i saw a tacoma yesterday that looked a little different on the road.
then i saw the pics of the 09,,,, that's when i know that was it!

I wish toyota would update their site so I can price it out!!!

Why the *ell did they have to go out if the way to make the sub stand out like a sore thumb; they could have just moulded it in the same 2 colors that the interior is offered in, and left that dumb looking "X" off, and even making it in 2 colors they would have saved money. It seems like Toyota has for years pushed the advertising money toward the teenager market. Most 18-20 something people I know would be embarrassed to have something like that seen in anything they own. Same goes for the taillights, how about LED's for the long life and low current draw vs having to make sure everyone has to know they are special. The lights look like something out of an early 60's sci-fi B movie, a '59 Cadillac has nothing on those units. I guess if one doesn't like the sub, they might be able to remove the X and the alien eyeball and cover it with some thin, sound transparent matching fabric, and trade out the lights and maybe a little cash for some of the old lights, and probably will also need the correct flasher, as I presume it is different due to the amp draw. Other than that it is OK; I have not been in and out of an AccessCab enough to know which rear seat design is better utility wise, but the head restraints are a good safety item for when the seats are in use by someone tall enough to need them, the smoked headlamps don't make a difference to me one way or the other, but most on this and other sites who do prefer them blacked out, do prefer them much darker, so I expect people will paint the interior of the housings just as much as they have in the past.

Someone had asked for TRD trim level upholstery fabric shots, but per the printed info only the SR5 fabric has changed, so the TRD's/X-Runner fabric should be the same as last year, and all the way back to '05. I guess the SR5 1980's Buick/Olds style velour fabric has bit the dust.

EDIT: It is still the best mid size truck out there.....................

i have to agree, i would never drive around with those tail lights and you couldnt give me a sub for free that looked like that.

The pink tint goes perfectly with my Indigo Red Pearl!

Sound is excellent. Good frequency range, lots of bass, but not too much if you dont want it.

yeah, i know, but by these pics, i did not see the sign on the truck that said 4x4, you cannot really tell if it is a prerunner or a 4x4 just by looking at them...

If you look at the rear of the truck, you can see a bit of the white TRD decal that says, Off Road.

off road does not necessarily means that it is a 4x4, unless there is something about the 09s that i don't know...

I was under the assumption that it was an 4x4. I wont have my taco until I get back from Korea, so I am still learning the ins and outs of the taco, trd, prerunner,four runner,and so on. Most of all my vehicles have been fords and when they have said offroad, they have been 4 wheel drive. My humble apologies.

u can still get an OR prerunner. lots of em out there. i went from a prerunner sport to a 4x4 sport
