Hi everyone. Just got my Tacoma a week ago, and this is my first post on this board. Great information by the way.

My question is: Does the TSB for the rear leaf springs cover 2009's? My truck is 2009 Tacoma D-cab, 4x4, TRD Sport. The rear suspension is currently two leafs with a helper.

    Thanks.

    Mike

the TSB does not cover 09s, but most people have been able to get the new springs since our 09s have the same part number as the ones in the TSB. You can read through the many stories on here about how some dealers do it no problem and some take some convincing before they will do it. If you take it back to the dealer with the TSB in hand and get them to look up the part numbers of your rear springs - then show them the TSB and say you would like for them to put the new springs on, they should do it for you since they want your service on your new truck.

    Amos,

Thanks for the information. Still debating whether or not to have it done.

I had it done a week after I bought mine. Its a toss up thinking about it after the fact. If you wait a few years you will get a free set of leaf springs after yours are worn out, but there is the chance that they won't replace them at all. I went ahead and had it done because I wanted to be able to tow and haul stuff without any problems right now.
