    Since you now found that the wiring is in place, you can do as Bret has stated. It be a larger investment, but a better view. There's mating connector to the one you found that can be used to divert the camera signal to a new head unit.

    I8 also has Fused Battery & Fused Ignition source, ground that can be re-purposed for other features: Dash Cam, Mirror with Compass/Garage Door opener type, etc.

    Guess i’m a year late, I have a similar situation, i have the cable and it’s up i’m the headliner, how would i go about wiring it to a new head unit, i understand needing a converter, but physically where should i run the cable to get it to the head unit, any info is helpful thank you so much.

    EDIT also wondering what head unit would be easily compatible

    And that will plug right into the camera wire that’s in the headliner? or will i still need an adapter

    The one I installed has an RCA plug input. Comes with a license plate cam with long enough wire for a Taco. RCA is a better connection for video, but automotive likes square plugs with lots of pins :D

    I think it’s unlikely the stock wiring uses an RCA connection. But you could look.
