The backup camera in my rear view mirror of my 2009 Tacoma standard transmission has recently malfunctioned. When in reverse the screen is either blue, a sporadic broken snow screen or is dark and will change between the 3 screen types as I mover the stick around in reverse. The backup lights function properly. Any suggestions as to the problem or the fix?

I'm having the same issue. If I wiggle the wires going into the mirror the back up camera screen works. I'm assuming that a wire is loose or corroded. I posted a thread asking if anyone has opened the mirror to see if it's as simple as it sounds but nobody has responded. Tomorrow I plan to disassemble my mirror to see what it looks like. I'm hoping for something easy I can solder.

Sounds like a loose connection in rear view mirror. You at least have something of a picture in your rear view mirror plus back up lights which means it's not the back-up switch. Start with connections to rear view mirror since you'll sometimes you'll have video when you move it around.

I’m having this also. I see this on mine.

I’ll check the wires and see if that helps.

I don't have lines on my screen. Is that a setting or something?

The setting is called broken. :D Mine is a 2013, not sure if there is much difference between year models.
