2009 Tacoma CV axle spins, tire does not

Hi all, working on my girlfriends 2009 2.7 Tacoma.

Had a ripped CV boot for quite awhile, got around to changing it. Drove it first thing this morning a few miles down the beach and handled fine with the messed up boots. made an afternoon project of swapping driver and passenger side for some Auto Zone replacements. Install went seemingly great, until we went down to the beach later and got stuck instantly. I got out and noticed CV is spinning on the side closest to differential, but tire isn't spinning at all.

 

Aftermarket CVs are junk for anything other than street driving. Return it for a refund and get an oem replacement
