On my 2009 tacoma the daytime running lights run so bright that they burn the lens of the headlight. I am on my second set of headlights and the burning is starting to begin. This same thing happened on my original set. I have heard of switching the dtrl to led. Do the leds produce less heat? if so, which set is best to purchase?

I just changed dtrl to led on my 2011. Way less heat. I bought the led's from csujumper and it works great, amber led. There are two options for the amber bulbs and I got the lower wattage but if I did it again I'd get the higher wattage bulb. Lower wattage is a little darker amber.

Thanks, I will do some more research. I would prefer buying from Amazon due to the simplicity.

It is a TSB, I had my lenses replaced a few months back when my lenses burned. The new lenses are updated.

Yes, it is the only way to remedy the problem and the amber in the new lens is different than the old one.

I called Toyota after finding the same problem. They said there was nothing they could do since it was out of warranty. They said they sent out a notice about the possible issue, which I never received. I informed them I took my truck to two other dealerships for routine maintenance over the past 5 years, so why did they not notice it and inform me. Poor communication in my option. I did notice mine today when I went to fix the oxidation on the main headlamp lens. I did buy the new led by Sylvania. Mine blink fast as if I have a burnt out bulb but it lights up fine. Does anyone else have the same issue?

My lenses have been burned for quite a while now. Unfortunately I am out of warranty as my model is a 2011. And then just yesterday my right turn DTRL died. Booo. Time to swap 'em out with LEDs this time.

I would try another dealership. There is a TSB on this. The first place I went said no then GG Toyota took care of it. I too was out of warranty. They can do it if they want to. I would be persistent and professional.
