My 2009 Headliner has developed a "thump" when I hit bumps in the street. I don't do any off road driving but this is driving me nuts. I think its coming from the area of the overhead console. Does anyone have ideas to fix this? I thought if I took the console off I could add some "insulation" between the roof and headliner. Removing the overhead console looks to be pretty straight forward. Thanks for any input.

Yes, it's easy. Remove one screw inside the sunglasse holder and then pull down on the front portion of the console. Don't lose the 2 metal clips that hold it in place.

Thanks for the reply. Does the idea I have regarding adding something between the roof and headliner sound logical?

A new noise means something has come loose. Insulation merely treats a symptom but fails to address the cause. My guess is wiring has come loose and needs to be re-anchored.
