Not if you take the 0% financing for 36 months they are offering in the Southeast right now. That's what I would do.....

I just bought a truck on Thursday, Houston, TX 6.25% tax. 32,150 (or so) sticker. Paid 28,300 with the 1500 rebate. 4x4, dc, trd offroad.. 4.5% for 72 months, no money down.

499 Paperwork fee is Bogus, refuse to pay it. I had a $50 Dollar Doc fee, that was it. If you are in Houston, Fred Haas Toyota World is the cheapest..

Yeah, but you have a state income tax so stop with all the "no sales tax" ballyhoo.

    Yikes!

I thought NYS was as dysfunctional as it gets after California, of course.

Had no clue about Chi / Ill.

What, do parts of the USA not have Income tax??? That would be so sweet!
We get raped up here in Canada. In B.C, 12% tax when you buy something!!!!

I think a couple of states don't have sales tax(Oregon is one of them) but Oregon has a state income tax. Some states just have a sales tax(Washington State for example) but no state income tax. And then the worst-Sales tax and a state income tax(hello California).

Now, there is a Federal Income Tax on top of whatever the State you live in wants to do to you. Or you could go Wesley Snipes or Woody Harrelson altogether and just try to avoid paying any tax whatsoever. But as Blade found out, there are consequences.

I'm making an offer on a new Prerunner this weekend, so I'm following this thread for advice.

I live in Tennessee, we have 9.25% sales tax, but no income tax... hurts when you make the big purchases...

What is the $1500 rebate?? I see a $1000 customer appreciation cash in the month of July deal... maybe I'm not seeing all of the deals goin on?

Don't worry, if our current administration has their way, Canada will be the place of low taxes and readily available healthcare for everyone.

Yea, I was going to purchase my truck in TN but none of the dealer offered the 1500 rebate. I bought the truck in Atlanta. Even before the rebate, the best price I could get in TN for a fully loaded off rd DC 4x4 was around 29k I am saving over 3k by getting it in Georgia after rebates

Not only 0% sales tax - these guys get checks from the state from the oil that they're allowed to pump out of the earth. In CA we like to let it seep out on to our beaches!

Which Dealer in Marietta did you work with? It sounds like you've already been down this path.

Getting quotes for my Taco purchase

USAA discounts of 1500 and 2000 below invoice.

    Dealer MSRP Quote
    World Toy 28400 24100
    MallofGA Toy 27200 24092
    MariettaToy 27200 23562

All of these are DC Prerunner TRD Sports in Dk Green (Timberland Mica), there is one of these at the local dealer as well, with a sticker of 27400, and I'm planning to go in and make an offer... I know most of the time you have to offer lower than you're willing to give in order to come back to where you want to be... so if I'm willing to pay 23? but 22.5k is even better, do I offer 22k? Is it laughable or possible?

Start low and work up. Worst case they decide they can't go as low as you want to pay and you leave. If they chase after you or call you then your golden. Don't accept anything different than what you want to pay if it's not right for you.
