    Part # stamped on the right side is 48210-04550 which is what the TSB says it should be

    New part number should be 48210-04570

    Just had my TSB springs done on my 2009 DC LB. They did not give me a hard time, since I went to dealer with 10 bags of concrete weighing total of 800 lbs. I had only 1/2" of clearance before hitting the suspension bumbers. I told the dealer this was only 65% of the payload capacity and was not going to cut it. I told him a friend has a 2007 and told me about the springs needing replacement. They said needed to get permission from Toyota and called me next day to say all approve, just needed to order springs.

    (Don't know if it matters, but my Tacoma was made on June of 2008... it is considered a 2009 on all my paperwork.)

    For those considering getting it done to your tacoma consider this;

    If I had lots of money, I would have had air bags installed instead. The ride is a lot rougher on bumpy roads and off road when the truck is empty. It is still ok crusing down the highway. I guess what I am saying is if you can afford the airbag option, go for it. I think overall you would have a more satisfiying ride. I do not have extra dollars so I opted for the TSB because I plan on hauling lots of weight and towing larger trailers. Just don't be surprised about the ride difference. I personally don't have any regrets doing it. I have already towed a 3500lb trailer and I could tell the difference right away.

    Good luck.

    Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .

    I was turned down before ... but they are doing the 2009s now.

    I have a 2009 DCSB, TRD, OR, 4x2 (not 4x4) and got my TSB on the rear springs done two days ago.

    The dealer replaced the rear springs (3 leaf) with the heavier duty 4 leaf pack. They also did an alignment. ... :D

    The dealer did not replace my rear shocks since the Tacoma had the OEM Bilsteins on it.

    The dealer tried to install the 4 leaf pack on my 09 basic regular cab and he said the springs wouldn't fit. He check with Toyota and confirmed that they can't do a "basic" Taco. Has anyone else encountered this?

    I don't know anything about springs not fitting but the TSB pertains to Access and Double Cabs only.

    The 4th leaf added will only get you so far. I would still look into airbags if you are planning on hauling significant weight on a consistent basis. After running multiple loads of 5/8 crushed in my trailer and a little in the bed I decided to do an AAL as well.

    Do you think those springs will settle in after time and bring the height down a bit?

    Agreed

    My truck came stock with the 4 leaf pack and they were flat when I ripped them out and installed Dakars .

    Yeah, I have definitely pushed mine past their limits and hope the AAL will help for the meantime.
