This truck I’m looking at has great service records and it’s been maintained very well, should I have a compression test done or is it not needed? I had one guy recommend I get it done but it’s kinda a pain for the seller with his work schedule to take it to a shop, it has 200k miles and it’s supercharged, supercharger was rebuilt by John bond performance 10k miles ago

You're creating multiple post about the same truck. If you're skeptical about it, move on to the next one.

Made this post about the compression test question, I’m not skeptical since it felt good in a test drive and looked pretty solid all around, just don’t know a whole heck of a lot about how long these engines last and what to look for when buying one with 200k or so miles and a supercharger, he has done all of the necessary maintenance it seems

You're buying a 20+ y/o truck. IMHO, getting a PPI is pointless and if I was the seller, I would tell you to go pound sand or leave a deposit for my time.

Judging from the overall shape, the owner took care of the truck. Take it for a drive, sniff the tail pipe, check the oil and coolant and if everything checks out, buy it. 200k is nothing. Plus, the 5vz are dime and dozen and fairly inexpensive.

Where is this truck located? I would buy that in a heartbeat. Condition looks good and have some nice upgrades. I bought 3 brand new Toyota and maybe 10 other used toyota throughout my life. Never once I had a pre-purchase inspection or compression done. Look over it thoroughly and make the judgement from there.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I think you need to get it.

But sounds like seller don't want to or don't have the time. That leaves OP with two choices, buy it or pass on it.

Mine was similar when I bought it, minus the recent supercharger rebuild. Supercharged all of its life and just over 200k miles. The S/C rebuild at Jon Bond alone is worth some peace of mind. Nobody that is paying to have the S/C done right is likely to be neglecting oil changes. I'd buy it without any worry about compression or leakdown testing as long as there are no other sign of issues. Especially if the owner has good service records.
