    I'm soon going to be joining the 200k mile club and was wondering what I should do (replace) to keep my truck running for as long as possible (I'm sure this has come up before but after not being able to find it in decide to create my own thread) truck is 2002 extended cab tacoma

    Bilstein 5100 at 2.5 inch OME dakars with the big overload removed 265/75/16 on stock wheels 290,000 miles and counting
    Since no one else I chiming in, I'm about to grab a 2002 trd offroad ex cab with 196,000 on it myself. From my research I gather the timing belt is good to replace by 200k.

    You might add in what you have done already. Have you had the truck all 200,000 or did you just get it.

    When I get mine I'll do the timing belt, if he hasn't done it, and general tune up. Plugs, engine and transmission oil change, diff oil change front and back, radiator flush. Then I'll go over the suspension. Ball joints, shocks, bushings etc.

    The one I'm getting had been garaged by an older gent its whole life. I will take some time and clean the frame and repaint or coat it with some heavy duty stuff. It's new life will be in the oil field.

    Ive had it for about a year and a half,thanks alot I'll definitely take your advice, this may sound dumb but have you ever heard of anyone covering their frame with line-x

    No, I think the problem would be getting it everywhere and coated evenly. If water gets underneath then it accelerates the rust and these frames are fragile already. My plan is to wire wheel what I can, hit it with a rust treatment that's meant to be painted over. Then hit it with vht chassis black or maybe por 15.

    235k now. When I got to 196k I replaced:

    Timing belt
    Water pump
    Spark plugs spark plugs wires
    Belts
    Rotors and brake pads
    Pcv valve
    Transmission mount
    Lower ball joints
    Inner outer tie rods
    Front and rear chocks and coils
    Differential fluid
    Transmission fluid
    Radiator flush
    Brake fluid
    Power steering fluid
    Steering rack bushings
    Sway bar bushings
    Some of the vacuum lines
    Fuel filter

    Forgot to say: ALL AFTERMARKET :D
