Haha same here. I work at Nissan, but I bought a Toyota Tacoma. I get harassed all the time from my coworkers. I like the Frontier, but I feel the same way, its just kinda boring to me.

Ahhh glad to see someones with me..... I always get harrassed.. nissan got more hp, more torque, more this more that.... toyota got sludge problem yeah not on the 4.0... Nissan boring... if you notice, FJ, 4 runner an tacoma all have different design both inside and out. while frontier, xterra, and pathfinder all have the same design inside and out... boring......

For the longest time the Frontier was ahead of the Tacoma on my list. Wasn't til a few months ago that I really decided I liked the Tacoma better. Regardless of power output, I'm still impressed at how quick the Tacoma is.

The Tacoma is quicker than the Fronty in all the tests. I guess lighter weight, and an optomistic HP claim from Nissan.....

I guess more power is never a bad thing, however, I'm certainly not going to run out and trade my 09 on a future Taco just because of a power bump. The current powertrain already runs like a mofo. Now a good diesel offering would make things a little more interesting . . .

I drove V6 Frontier and Tacoma back to back in one day, and the Tacoma felt a lot stronger around town and on the highway on-ramp.

Maybe it was a weak Frontier and a strong Tacoma, but the Taco was quicker. And mine feels even faster than the one I test drove.

That's what I think. I wonder if they're using the new SAE standards.

They are. They have to. However....Upon digging deeper into this, I found that its possible for manufactures to mess with the engine computer, to try and eek out a higher HP rating. I talked with some friends, one of wich owns the dyno shop I use, and found that the newer Nissan trucks are getting about the same rear wheel hp as the Tacoma. My buddy said the last 2 he dynoed stock, had between 200 and 205 rwhp.

the reason why i ask im on the verge of trading my 2.7 for a 10' 4.0 dbl cab. for the times i dont wanna drive the dodge to town. it does make much more sense to just have one 4 ltr with the same output as the rest

The Tacoma is quicker than the Frontier because it has a couple hundred pounds less steel in the frame. It's a truck, I'd rather have more steel in the frame than fewer seconds in a quarter mile.
