You need to run a relay if you are using the Highlander switch. It will fail if you don't.

You should always run a relay as an extra precaution...(depending on the application)

Drunksloth- I'm not really sure how much amps the heating element takes to run.

Jerez- it's all good man. that's why I love this community, lots of help from different members.

One more thing, has anyone ran there's as DTRL's? I'm thinking of doing the same thing, but with a switch. Possible??

Anything over 10 Amps I would definitely run a relay. It depends a lot on how much the switch you are using and other components can take.

I don't see why not, you would just need to wire it to the DTRL's. Do you have them already?

    ^^Cool, thanks.
Only thing I'm thinking about is how I would go in connecting that to the turn signals on the mirrors:confused:

Finally got the turn signals connected and working. Gonna wire up the foot lamp tomorrow. As for the heated mirror function that'll have to wait. Have to order the switch online. Local parts center wanted 109$ because they have to special order it, ain't no way in hell I'll fork up that much for a switch.

    Totally forgot about this thread.

Okay, I don't care about heat... do the '12 Tacoma mirrors have the foot lights?
That and power is what I really want.

you can always go aftermarket, it's a lot more affordable. some already had the success on installing them.
